Thanks for dropping by. My newest novel for young adults is The Survivors, sequel to Memory Boy, but check out my backlist of YA titles, including Saturday Night Dirt and the "Motor Novels" series. Though I began my literary career writing for adults, I've tried to write a few good books for younger readers as well. Novels and short stories that will keep kids reading. Quality but highly readable fiction wherein characters grow and change ("stealth lit," I call it). A big thank you to all the educators out there who have used my writing, including Sweet Land, the film adaptation of my short story "A Gravestone Made of Wheat," in your classrooms and libraries.
If you're interested in booking me for an appearance at your school, convention, library or community event, look at my calendar on the Appearances page, then get in touch. I try to not travel all the time (writers have to write), but Contact me directly and I'll reply directly. I'm also available through Skype.
P.S. Do you write? Interested in all things literary? Take a look at my "Write Right" blog. And coming soon: selected short stories for young adults, including "WWJD," on a school-oriented, e-reading platform.
